2nd European Spa Congress in Warsaw

Warsaw will play host to the second edition of the European Spa Congress. The event is the most important wellness and spa discussion forum in Central and Eastern Europe. The second edition will be attended by leading experts from Austria, the UK, Russia, Turkey, Hungury and Poland. The congress will be held at Sofitel Warsaw Victoria Hotel on 26 March 2015.

This year, as was the case last year, the event will be dedicated to the latest trends in the spa and wellness sector. The attendees will be able to learn about the upcoming changes in the spa market in Central and Eastern Europe and what they should offer at their spa centres to attract customers. The event will include a special panel discussion on a new trend called ‘Lifestination’. The discussion will provide an insight into ways of creating spa areas and a spa programme to deliver unique customer experience. A major part of the congress will be a discussion on the development of the wellness market in Central and Eastern Europe. “This way we would like to become part of the global debate on the prospects of the development of wellness tourism in this region and to try to answer the question whether Central and East European countries, with their cultural diversity and indisputable wealth of spa traditions, can become attractive wellness destinations one day,” says Arkadiusz Dawidowski, chairman of the European SPA Foundation of Poland.

All the lectures at the congress will be delivered by recognized experts: Belgin Aksoy, the founder of the Global Wellness Day and Creative Director at Europe’s best destination spa, Richmond Nua Wellness & Spa, Turkey; Sophie Benge, the author of Healing Sources; Elena Bogacheva, the president of the Russian Spa and Wellness International Council; Adrian Egger, managing director of Thermarium (Austria); and Laszlo Puczko, director of The Tourism Observatory for Health, Wellness and Spa (Hungary). In addition, the discussions on the future of the spa sector will be attended by the general managers of Polish spa hotels.

This year’s edition of the congress will, for the first time, feature a gala event for the Wellness & Spa Diamonds Award and a prize-giving ceremony during which Poland’s most outstanding wellness & spa facilities will receive awards.

The event is organised by the European SPA Foundation of Poland. The congress is organised under the patronage of Polish Tourist Organisation.
